Four More Young Anglers Qualify at Round Four of the FEVA Junior Makins Masters


The fourth qualifier of the Feva Junior Makins Masters took place last weekend, with another fantastic day of competitive fishing showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the next generation of match anglers.

Run by Nelson Angling Academy, in association with Feva and Makins Fishery, the series has been created to give young anglers aged 10-16 more opportunity to experience competitive match fishing in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Nine young anglers took to the bank for the penultimate qualifier, hoping to secure one of the 20 places in the Grand Final on 20th September, where over £2,000 of prizes are up for grabs. With some excellent catches recorded throughout the day, another four competitors successfully booked their place.

Charlie Wade – 64lb 2oz

Supporting junior anglers is something Feva is passionate about, and sponsoring initiatives such as the Feva Junior Makins Masters helps provide young anglers with opportunities to gain match experience, build confidence and enjoy the sport alongside others of a similar age. With Nelson Angling Academy delivering the series and Makins Fishery providing a superb venue, the championship continues to grow with every qualifier.

There is now just one qualifier remaining, with four more places still available in this year's Grand Final.

The fifth and final qualifier takes place at Makins Fishery on Saturday 26th July, offering one last chance for anglers aged 10-16 to qualify.
